Having immersed himself in the field for over thirty years, John is considered a master craftsman and is recognized as one of the leading forces working in the industry today.
Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, John was exposed at an early age to the world of fashion. After completing his licensure / certification in cosmetology school, he embarked on his career path with great ambition. From humble beginnings, he successfully navigated the business, starting from renting a simple booth at a salon to owning and operating his own, in the affluent Detroit suburb of Birmingham, Michigan. With passion and vigor, John pursued many aspects of the hair industry, including to brand his own hair products, which competed with Paul Mitchell, Vital Sasson and Clairol. With access to pioneers in the industry, Sharon Moffett, Valerie Lake and Carlton Norton, to name a few he began to develop his influential gift.
In an effort to expand his skillsets, John watched old movies. He was captivated by classic looks and he began to transform old hairstyles into trademark works-of-art. Determined to brand his style, John made a name for himself becoming professionally known as a specialist in high fashion, hair coloring and haircutting.
John proved his credibility by practicing an unprecedented level of professionalism and skill to establish trust as an expert in servicing diversified nationalities, traveling across the nation and abroad.

The quality training system for the L Pierce Advance Team includes providing an outstanding learning facility, experienced and competent instructors and a curriculum developed through years of experience and expertise. Our goals are to train students to be professional, knowledgeable and skilled hair stylists.
